Hello,
I urgently need information about the GT1749VA and GT1749VB models. Unfortunately, there is very little information available online or from Garrett partners.
What are the differences between the two chargers? Is the exhaust side (exhaust housing + manifold, bearings, turbine wheel, shaft, oil inlet and outlet) the same for both chargers? The compressor side needs to be the same, at least in terms of the shaft, fittings, and compressor impeller.
concerns. So far, the only differences I've found are that the VB model has a narrower intake diameter of 37mm (compared to 35mm for the VA model) and a narrower outlet diameter of 38.3mm (compared to 36.5mm for the VA model).
has. I would also like to know if the exhaust manifold (header) would fit on the ARL engine.
I hope you can write something about it.

Hi Zak,
If you've been reading this forum, you've probably noticed that the GT1749VB is the turbocharger that comes standard on the ARL engine. So, what's the point of asking if the exhaust side fits?
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
Okay, I understand. I drive an ARL, and I'm wondering if I could get a ready-made turbocharger. However, it's a combination of a GT1749VA (on the exhaust side) and a GT2052V (on the compressor side), which is why I'm asking what's different about the VA model. I want to make sure that the exhaust manifold from the VA model will fit on my ARL. According to my research, as I mentioned, the compressor's outlet and inlet are different for the VA model. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are any differences on the exhaust side. VW also couldn't provide that information, but they told me that, according to the electronic parts catalog (ETK), different gaskets are required on the exhaust side.
