Ford TDCi: 3 Starts, Glow Plug Light Flashing?

FORD MONDEO TDCI 130 (Year: 11/2001, Mileage: 47,000 km)

The following symptoms are present:

During the 1st attempt to start:
Headlight turns off, attempt to start -> starter motor whirs, but the car doesn't start.

During the 2nd star trial:
The headlight goes out, but then blinks at a second interval --> The starter motor cranks, but the car doesn't start.

On the 3rd attempt to start:
Starts up as if nothing happened.

It doesn't matter if it's warm or cold. A software update was then performed at the Ford dealership (the PCM and ICU were reprogrammed). During this process, two error codes were read from the WDS: P1664 and P2288 (I don't think these are standard OBDII codes, because after the 1664 code, it would indicate a Mondeo with 10 cylinders ).

The problem persists! Otherwise, the engine is running well, with no loss of performance, hesitation, or misfires.

My starter problem has been resolved; it turned out to be a mechanical issue. I had been experiencing a long period without the starting problem (at least 3 months), but it reappeared again the day before yesterday. The solution is probably just getting a 'proper' car.
