Hello,
Today, I used VAG-COM and a test drive to read out my vehicle's values.
The error memory was clear, which is good, but I noticed something very concerning regarding the turbocharger boost pressure. I'm driving a 1.9 TDI 110 kW (150 hp) with engine code KBST: ARL.
I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong) that this engine has a boost pressure of 1.5 bar, which I would say is within the normal range.
As I was doing the diagnostic test today with my  , I noticed that my boost pressure under full load is 2.0-2.3 BAR! }
Now, my questions: Is it possible that the diagnostic software gave an incorrect reading?
Why haven't I experienced any charger damage yet?
Could that be why I haven't experienced any charger damage yet on my WAES?
'Is this about fuel injection?'
Does the turbocharger have a defined limit at which it automatically switches to emergency mode?
(Motor)
Are my sensor readings that bad according to the OBD system?
Was bedeutet das? Hat der Tuner done a sloppy job?
I'm sorry if I didn't express myself very professionally; please don't judge me too harshly for it.

This is a common German abbreviation that stands for 'Mit freundlichen Grüßen,' which means 'Sincerely' or 'Best regards.' It is often used in emails and letters.

If you subtract the atmospheric air pressure (VAGCOM measures the absolute air pressure) from the measured value, it will almost be correct.
Otherwise, please use the search function. 3B5 AJM

Oh, so. The atmospheric pressure deduction was missing. My nice colleague could have told me, or maybe he doesn't know himself?
Na dann passt das ja ungefähr, hab schon nen Schreck bekommen. Everything is fine.

Basically, you would have 1 - 1.3, which is quite low for the ARL.
Did you go to a reputable tuning shop, or to someone who just messes around with engine maps in a parking lot?

Even with the standard air-fuel ratio (AFR) settings, at full throttle, the target boost pressure should be at least 2500 mbar starting around 2500 rpm, and even more so after a chip tuning modification.
If VAGCOM shows a significantly lower value in module byte (MB) 11, field 2 (despite moderate altitudes and full throttle, resulting in 100% in MB 10), the suspicion of a "parking map manipulator" is immediately apparent. Gruß Ulf

Wow, thanks for the tips!
So, I need to have my software revised as soon as possible.
Apparently, I've fallen for one of those parking space scams, great!

Look, see if you can catch the tuner again, and then confront him .
It would be great if you could share the dataset here (perhaps after a proper tuner has analyzed it). I'm curious to see the data related to the 'parking space mapping' that was generated.

To be sure, could you please upload a 008-010-011 log showing full throttle from approximately 1500 to 4300 rpm?
This gives you a rough idea of what the tuner was thinking (or not). Gruß Ulf

Hi,
Okay, I can definitely take a look at the logs. However, it might take a little while because my colleague needs to update the VAG-COM software first. It's a shareware program that doesn't save the data.
But I would also be interested to hear what you have to say about it .
Can anyone quickly recommend a reputable tuning company that can provide good software at a reasonable price?
Or is someone doing this privately? If so, please send me a private message.

Can anyone quickly tell me which reputable tuners can help me get good software at the most affordable price?
You are here in Rainer's forum. And Rainer is developing tuning software. And you want to be called a tuner - so, combine those sentences meaningfully, if you will .
By the way: 'cheap' is the wrong approach, because if you try to save money, you'll only end up with junk .

'Well, I can only agree with that... generally, tuning a car just for parking isn't really a great idea. Many people skip the dyno test before and after, for cost reasons, and then get promised the moon. Often, a peak in torque is suggested as proof of increased power.'

most of the time, a PEAK in torque suggests increased power...
'That's right - you can make it *feel* spectacular without the engine actually having more power. The advantage is that you can significantly reduce the risk of damaging the turbocharger or overextending the injection times... since it's running at its standard settings at its maximum power output.'

...many people, for cost reasons, skip the dynamometer test before and after...and then are promised the sky is the limit...
Can it also be done while using the flow calculation tool?
As soon as you say that you've already measured the performance and will measure it again after the tuning, most people who don't understand the process will already be cautious.
Those who know what they're doing aren't bothered by it much.
You can really save money here, but you need to do some research beforehand.
Best regards, Jochen.

A peak in the airflow calculation (when placed in the correct location) can actually lead to a better result, even without increasing the maximum pressure (Pmax).
