IMO, both chargers should have the same connection dimensions (installation dimensions) and power specifications, or am I wrong about that?

As always, the first thing to do is check the list! My AVB (vehicle registration document), for a car with 74 kW, is listed as...

Passat TDI - 150HP, 2.5L Diesel, AFB/AKN/AVB engines, 1999-2003, GT2052V turbocharger, part numbers 454135-0001/2/6E, 059145701C/G, A.

That's definitely not right, is it! I hope that's the only mistake!

The AFB/AKN codes match the part number.

The part number for AVB 74KW is 028 145 702 R.
