"A friend of mine owns a Pajero 2800 intercooler and is having some problems with it. The problems manifest as a loss of power when accelerating fully. We measured the boost pressure while driving, and when the problem occurs, the boost pressure drops to 0.6 bar. The maximum pressure is 0.7 bar (which is the standard pressure). I believe it's a wastegate turbo. However, I don't think there's a boost control valve there. He also has a pressure regulator with a rod. That seems to be working fine. We've replaced some hoses, but the power loss still occurs."
Does the Pajero also have a wastegate valve? Is anything controlled electronically in that vehicle? Does anyone have any ideas?
