Hi,
I am experiencing performance issues with my Passat 3B V6 2.5 AFB (1999, 195,000 km). Approximately 5000km ago, I replaced the LMM (air mass meter) due to performance issues (new part from VW) and immediately experienced a significant increase in power.
Now I've taken some time to read around a bit in this forum and have also conducted VAGCOM measurements.
I have logged MWB 010 and 008, and then also 003 and 011. I hope that I have carried out the processing, as described under "Instructions", correctly.
Here are the data (an Excel table):

My suspicion is still the LMM; the values seem to be simply too low.
If that's true, why does the part fail so quickly? I have also replaced the air filter, and there is nothing to indicate any leaks in the intake area.
Errors are not saved, however, I occasionally make the error:
01318 - Fuel pump control unit (J399)
49-00 - No communication
But really, only sometimes. During the entire test drive, this error did not occur.
Additionally, I'm also experiencing the following phenomenon: When accelerating to Vmax, there's a sudden cut-off at approximately 185 km/h. The already low power output then drops off even more abruptly, and the engine starts to make a rattling noise. The speed is also decreasing.
Thank you in advance.
Bernd.
