Initialization Problem: Troubleshooting & Solutions

'First of all, I have a Polo with an AXR engine. I've replicated Ulf's adapter, and it works and is recognized by the software. My problem is that when I try to access, for example, address 46, it constantly displays 'Init Addr 46 Try 1...4' and 'Please wait 2 sec' alternately, and then it disconnects. I've also noticed that I don't have an L-line, which is apparently normal. Additionally, pins 6 and 14 are also connected in my setup. Does anyone have a solution?'

It's sorted itself out, I was just too silly to turn on the ignition.
