I'm having a problem with my Volkswagen Golf Mk3, manufactured in 1994, which now has an impressive 290,000 km on the odometer. A new engine was installed when it had 100,000 km.
It's always been like this: it jerks when you drive at low RPMs. But recently, it takes longer for the jerking to stop. So now it sometimes happens even at an engine speed of 2000 RPM, whereas before it used to happen around 1600 RPM.

I hope you understand what I mean and can help me figure out what the problem is.

Don't be offended, but the 1.9 TDI still comes in countless versions, each identified with so-called engine code letters. This letter is located on the sticker at the very front of the service booklet, on the timing belt cover in the engine compartment, or in the trunk near the spare tire, also on a sticker. You take this (the engine code letter) and try searching here in the forum using "engine code letters and misfiring." Then there's a lot to read .
