Hi.

Can VAGCOM do that?

So, should I simply query all relevant data points and record them along with their units?

Code:

At the Techmess (Gunningen), this is also possible, but only with number sequences without any additional characters.

Hi Martin,

In the current VAG-COM version 704.1, you can select which measurement blocks (maximum of 12) to record from a list: Advanced measurement blocks are available in the control unit information, provided that a label file is stored for the respective control unit.

I've never used it, but the more measurement blocks are accessed simultaneously, the lower the sampling rate will inevitably be. It's better to know what you need and choose accordingly.
Creating a list like that gives the impression that all the measurements were taken simultaneously, but they are not. For example, it may take some time to update measurement block 12 after measurement 1 has been recorded. Therefore, I don't think this approach is very useful.
It only leads to people clicking on "everything," ultimately resulting in data that represents "a lot" while the accuracy/sampling rate approaches zero.

It's already clear that even experienced users often struggle to record meaningful data when troubleshooting. They might log irrelevant information while the engine is idling, even though the problem only occurs under full throttle, or they might select measurement blocks that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual issue.
It's like when the doctor asks about pain in your cheek, and the patient starts talking about a foot fungus they had three years ago.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi

Can VAGCOM do that?

So, just query all relevant data points and record them with their units?

Yes, it can also query all MWB data. With an English version:

'Applications -> Controller Channels Map, then Measuring Blocks and CSV file. However, depending on the controller, it may take some time to read out all 255 blocks.'
