Valve Stem Guides: Types & Applications

Hello,

I'm currently in the process of completely rebuilding my engine. However, I can't find any suppliers where I can order valve stem seals. VW only offers complete cylinder heads, and mine is now completely disassembled and has been machined, so I don't want to reinstall the old ones.
Do you know of any sources?

Hi,

I think the best thing to do would be to take the head to a motor repair shop. They have the right tools to properly install and remove the valve guides without damaging anything.

We also have the tools and the knowledge. The problem is that we've previously ordered VSF (Viton sealing flanges) from a supplier, but they never fit properly. We always had to painstakingly turn them down to the correct size on a lathe, and with my engine, they are completely off. Perhaps someone knows a manufacturer where this issue doesn't occur.

There might be something available from BMW, but I can't tell you if it will fit.
Sizes 11, 12, 1, and 266 760 are manufactured with a +0.10mm tolerance. They were used with M10 fasteners.
