Hello, dear community.
I have spent the last two days searching the entire internet, and unfortunately, I haven't found a suitable solution or information. That's why I re-registered and created this post.
"I'm having the following problem. I own an Audi A6 4B with a 2.5 TDI engine, all-wheel drive (quattro). It's a 2000 model and originally had an AKE engine. However, the AKE engine was replaced with a BAU engine due to a camshaft failure. The engine was completely replaced, including all auxiliary components and the fuel injection pump."
Now, we wanted to start this engine, so we connected all the connectors. As soon as the connector for the fuel injection pump is plugged in and the ignition is turned on, the fuel injection pump starts making a clicking noise and doesn't stop.
The EDC lamp starts flashing, and the error memory has been read.
This indicates that no communication can be established with the fuel injection pump J399.
"This fuel injection pump was sent to the Bosch repair service, and they thoroughly checked it but found no defects in the fuel injection pump or its control unit."
For testing purposes, I connected the old fuel injection pump to the AKE engine. It makes a brief clicking sound, then immediately stops. The EDC light remains off, and the error memory can be cleared and remains empty.
Now we were able to install the old fuel injection pump in the new BAU engine, and it runs with that, but we would like to replace it with the new fuel injection pump because it has significantly fewer operating hours and also uses different radial pistons.
Now I've read a lot about immobilizers and the pairing process, and I've tried various methods, but unfortunately without success. Maybe someone can tell me more about this problem.
The engine control unit has the part number 4B2 907 401 B.
VAG-Com is available in the current version.
I would really appreciate positive responses.
Thank you in advance.

Did you perhaps not replace the engine control unit?
You should do it.
The 4B2 907 401 B ONLY applies to the AKE (further restriction: automatic transmission).

Hello,
Thank you for the quick response.
Das Motorsteuergerät wurde nicht mit ersetzt. Ich denke dieses wird aber zwingend erforderlich sein. Welches Steuergerät wird dann gebraucht das dieses besorgt werden kann? SWhat is the part number?
It would be great if someone could help me. I'm almost desperate because of all the part numbers .

A suitable MSTG (Modular System Transmission Gear) for your vehicle would be, for example, the 8E0907401J - however, I cannot say whether it is compatible with your automatic transmission.

You'll also need to replace the instrument cluster.
Your car has the WFS2.
The new pump was installed in WFS3 vehicles and is also connected in a loop within the system.
It would probably be better to sell the pump and save the money.
