At least you have an original VW trailer hitch control unit. Your gateway is also up to date.

This is a real problem that Volkswagen should really try to solve. Unfortunately, I suspect that VW will point out that the AHK control unit is not the latest version (the current version is index E, not B) and that they will try to replace the AHK control unit.

It would be interesting to know if it would be better then. But are you sure you want to take on those costs without any guarantee?

Short question: Have you checked if the DWA (door/window alarm) is working for you? I haven't noticed any malfunctions on my end. Recently, I wanted to test if the alarm system (as described in the manual) works when the DWA is connected. According to the manual, the alarm system should trigger if the DWA is activated and then the plug is pulled. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to achieve that yet, even though all the lights on the caravan are correctly wired and functioning.

Perhaps the DWA function is the one that doesn't work in the older STGs and some retrofitted AHK-STGs. It would be interesting to know if this feature was already available on the first 3C models from 2005, or if it was implemented later.

I still have some Index D plus internal wiring harnesses available.
Only the wiring harness to the connector is missing.

Do you happen to know if the errors listed above occurred with that?

My Index E surprisingly doesn't have any problems with the C CAN-GW using software 0040, even though there's a TPL associated with it.

Perhaps Guste can test drive the D sometime . Thanks to the second battery, you can quickly access the connectors, right?

That's a great idea!

But (aside from the fact that I don't know if vagtuning would even lend out the control unit), my aftermarket Bosal E-kit unfortunately has completely different connectors (or only one instead of two), so while I can easily access it, I can't simply swap them around.

Otherwise, I probably would have jumped in without further questioning.

But I'm curious to see if Ruebesan wants to take the test, and if so, whether it could then be narrowed down to the AHK-STG group.
