Hi.
I drove a Lambda again yesterday.
It looked SIGNIFICANTLY better than the one from October 2008.
On October 8th, I still had software version 1184 on my MSTG device, but for some time now, it's been version 1881.
"It's supposed to be specifically designed to prevent sticking."
But why are the values so much better? Both times, the DPF was quite full, with 28% yesterday and a similar level in October.
Is there really no room for interpretation when calculating Lambda, that VW could have "adjusted" between 1184 and 1881?

Because the outside temperature was very high, and therefore the available air mass was smaller?

However, the 1881 has since been superseded by the 3783, and now by the 4369.
...I would be very interested to see the results of further tests.

Okay, on the way there, I didn't pay attention to the outside temperature.

Software 1881.
Approximately 13 degrees Celsius outside.
DPF approximately 15% full.
I can confirm Rainer's summer explanation of lambda expressions with this.
The value is again higher than it was in July.
However, the 223 km/h shown on the speedometer is almost 240 km/h.
Hazards between the two construction sites of Nonnweiler and Birkenfeld.
I therefore don't have a general Vmax problem with PPD engines.
The lambda jump when reaching the 200 mark is caused by the engine control unit (ECU) itself.
There's a brief surge in the VTG (variable turbo geometry), causing a momentary spike in boost pressure.

Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.

Hello Martin,
"Just out of curiosity - and because I'll probably be driving one of those cork-like vehicles myself in the medium term:"
How does the soot level in the DPF change after such a high-speed run?

Hi Roger,
It's hard to put into words.
At loads ranging from partial to full load, two opposing mechanisms play a role.
1. High load == a lot of Russian traffic -> the filter gets clogged.
2. High load == high temperature == spontaneous combustion -> filter burns off.
The diagram in the BOSCH diesel engine management system illustrates how engine speed and load are divided into 5 zones, and it explains the different regeneration strategies for each zone.
"Recently, I was lucky enough to find it parked outside with a 0% charge and 0 km since its last regeneration. After driving 40 km on the highway, it was still showing 0%."
