TSI Family: Meaning, Types & Benefits

Hi.

Short question: how are the TSIs related to each other?

1.4, 125 kW.
1.4L, 103 kW - detuned.

1.4, 90 kW - turbo only - compressor removed.
1.4L, 118 kW - ?? Software revised from the 1.25L model?

1.2, 77 kW - reduced to 90 kW.

The origin of the currently available 118 kW TSI engine is somewhat unclear.

In my opinion, the 1.2 model isn't just a downgrade; if I remember correctly, it's manufactured by the Czechs using the latest findings in production optimization, meaning: as cheaply as possible.

The 1.2-liter engine is available in two power levels: 86 and 105 horsepower.

Let's try using the German Classification of Occupations (MKB) as an example.

63kW CBZA (86 hp entry-level model)
77KW CBZB
--> Same family.

90KW CAXA (not CABA - martin)
--> only Turbo

118kW CAVD
132kW CAVE (the 180 horsepower GTI models).
--> Apparently related.


103kW BMY.
125kW BLG.
--> the OLD Euro 4 models???

Oops, you're right... I actually own one myself. How could this have happened?

CAXA is expected to arrive in 2 weeks, and CAVD will arrive a month later.

That's why I'm asking these questions.

Okay, I'm still not managing to drive the CAXA as fuel-efficiently as I'd like. I've taken it to work twice, and when I drive it the same way I drive my Golf, it uses about 1.4 liters more per trip. However, that's still better than the manufacturer's stated fuel consumption. Surprisingly, the engine takes an incredibly long time to warm up. Thanks to the oil temperature gauge, I only saw 72 degrees after driving for 25 kilometers at a steady pace, with an outside temperature of 14 degrees.

Otherwise, I can only say: beautiful engine, pulls well at low RPM, is surprisingly powerful in the mid-range, but very restrained at high RPM (but I avoid that range anyway)... and incredibly quiet ...

Then try doing a full-extension kick (with a DSG - presumably referring to a specific type of kick or technique).
Then it sounds more like a double-turbine .

Sure, it's rare, but I've experienced it: the turbo roars, the blow-off valve hisses, the tachometer acts like a windshield wiper... and the DSG smooths it all out again, and you don't have to worry about anything .
