"Hi, does anyone have experience with Ford? I'm usually a VW mechanic, but I'm dealing with a 2005 Mondeo 2.2 TDCi that's having problems with its engine running smoothly. When it starts, it runs well (cold engine). However, when you increase the RPM slightly, without any load, to around 1200 RPM, the engine starts to run unevenly and smokes heavily from the exhaust (diesel). The suspected camshaft sensor is gray, although I can't understand how it could be related. However, it has been reported in other forums."

The EGR valve often causes problems with this engine.

Okay, I also suspected the valve. I closed it, but there was no change. Has anyone had problems with the injectors?

"Years ago, we had a 2.0 96kW TDCI with a faulty injector. It always ran unevenly and lacked power, not just when it was warm. However, because it was so long ago, I don't know if any error codes were set. In any case, the problem was detected during a fuel return test. This Ford has a Delphi injection system, and this particular injector was not available for purchase from general retailers. However, Ford sold it for around 70 euros. Ultimately, the injector had to be programmed using a KTS diagnostic tool."
An injector was replaced, and the machine started working again.
