Hi everyone,

I am currently looking for the CAN messages used to control the xenon-AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) modules in the headlights of the latest generation Tiguan, for a student project (x-by-wire).

Given the temperatures, I'm not really in the mood to reverse-engineer this – meaning, I don't want to connect a CAN sniffer or oscilloscope.

I know that I can use VCDS to tell the control unit for the xenon headlights to turn them left or right. Therefore, the basic functionality would be provided...

The following questions remain open:

Can I specify an offset (e.g., "move x percent to the left"), or is only an end-stop possible?
"Does anyone know if I absolutely need the 'first' control unit? According to the wiring diagram and the SSP (Supplementary Service Publication), the control unit is connected to the regular CAN bus and has a separate CAN bus specifically for the headlights." Since I don't need any of the other functions (dependencies like steering angle, speed, etc.), the ideal scenario would be if someone could provide me with these CAN messages.
Does anyone have a list floating around? Unfortunately, the manufacturers of the control units are very secretive, and the VCDS LBL files also don't contain any useful information... :/

Sure, here's the translation:

"Thank you in advance."

Marco.

Hello Marco,

Unfortunately, there is no publicly available CAN database for this, so reverse engineering is required.

Try it there.
