V6 TDI Water Pump: Installation & Repair

Hello guys!
My A4 2.5 TDI 150HP just came back from the workshop. The bearing in the water pump was worn out, and the impeller had completely detached. My A4 is 3.5 years old. It's quite pathetic that the water pump couldn't last more than 92,000 km, isn't it?

Did you experience something similar? Is there any possibility of goodwill or compensation?

This piece of junk cost me a whopping €900 (including a new timing belt and pulleys)!

So, in my Golf, it was already time to replace it during the 90,000 km timing belt change.
