Rail pump, Opel Astra, likely faulty

Hello!

I need to get a replacement part for a 2006 Opel Astra GTC, 1.9 Diesel,
CR Injection, replace the high-pressure pump of the fuel injection system.

Error diagnosis was performed by an Opel dealership workshop.
The car simply broke down.

I also have the cost estimate from Opel, and the pump is very expensive.
The output is approximately €100, so it can't be that bad.

The customer wants to install a used pump, in order to then sell the car, as it has been experiencing constant problems.

I would like to know from you if I can somehow verify the error diagnosis (The workshop is known for preferring to install expensive replacement parts, which sometimes wasn't actually necessary).
and whether it is possible without special tools / software,
to replace a pump properly.

Therefore, it is quite accessible.
I haven't done anything yet.

Do you have the ability, for example, to use a Bosch diagnostic tester to measure the rail pressure during starting? It should ideally be at least 130 bar. Also, check also auch mal das Raildruckmagnetventil. Einfach mal abdrehen, manchmal ist dort der grüne Dichtring defekt.

Is the booster pump working correctly? Also, check the amount of return flow, sometimes there's a huge amount of return, which means the rail pump can't maintain or build up pressure anymore.
These engines are unfortunately not very robust.

This is a VP44-engine, and here is a CR-engine!
