Golf IV DSG. For the others, you would first need to teach them CAN-BUS 1.6.

There is no DSG transmission available for 1.9-liter engines in the Golf 4. Also, a Golf 5 DSG transmission with the mechatronics unit from a Golf 4 will go into limp mode because the values for the shaft speeds are not compatible.
So, the Golf 4 has a CAN 1.6 system? What about the G5? And the 2.0?

The Golf 4 has CAN 1.6, so what does the G5 have? 2.0?
However, there is the .:R32 with DSG .

To be cool.
I had already installed a R32 mechatronic unit in the Golf 5 transmission. The transmission was running in a limp mode.

Golf 4!!!! .:R32... Not G5.
Regarding the translation, that would need to be calculated. I don't know that off the top of my head .
And a Golf 5 DSG with the mechatronics from a Golf 4 is running in emergency mode because the values for the shaft speeds are not correct.
But shouldn't that be adjustable?

Ja, den 4er R32 meine ich doch. Ich habe 2 Stück davon vor der Tür stehen. Da braucht man nicht mal anfangen zu rechnen. IIt's much too short.
That's why I'm looking for a solution. So far, I haven't found anyone who can customize it.

Do you have a CAN logger or something like that? Because if only the RPM values have "incorrect" offsets/factors, it might be possible to correct it.
Are VCDS and a flasher available for the MSG?
Then I might be able to help with that.

To my knowledge, there was no standard EDC15 engine control unit from the VAG group that supported a DSG transmission in any way.
I therefore consider the realization of such a project to be quite difficult.

Correct
That's why I'm asking the person who started the thread if they're fit enough...
He seems to have installed one before. The interface to the engine control unit is actually quite simple with the EDC15. There are only a few CAN IDs that are important for the transmission control unit (read-only!).
The actual intervention from the transmission control unit (TCU) is achieved through an external torque/moment control via CAN bus.
Whether a DSG, a torque converter, or an automated manual transmission is installed, it makes absolutely no difference to the MSG.

Hello.
I have VCDS. I can borrow things like a CAN logger and flasher. I don't have much knowledge about the CAN bus myself. I have someone who is helping me with it. The goal is to program an interface that connects CAN 1.6 and 2.0. Currently, we are missing information about the necessary CAN signals for a Golf 5 DSG. I have an appointment next week to read out the CAN data. Then I will see what else needs to be done.
Regards,
Paul.
