Hey
I'm having a problem and I'm stuck, and I'm hoping you can give me some tips.
It's a 2005 Mondeo 2.2TDCI.
It all started when a clip on the fuel pressure hose came loose during a drive on a country road, and the hose slipped down. Since I couldn't stop, I drove on until I reached the next breakdown area.
A roadside assistance service arrived and reinstalled the hose. Engine started, but then it was very difficult to start, and then only a black smoke cloud came out of the exhaust, and it immediately died again, and it hasn't started since.
Okay, so the car was towed away due to suspected turbo damage.
I checked the charger, but it seems to be working fine. Complete shovel wheel, no play, no oil.
Error memory read. Nothing found.
Therefore, the suspicion fell on the injectors. Since they were so eager to damage the cylinder during their demise, I decided to measure the compression first.
This is 20.20, 18, 20, which is too low.
Okay, the timing belt inspection results are normal.
So, I guess the poor compression is due to the cheap tester from eBay and a weak battery.
Engine runs normally.
What else should I check?
Who would you suspect?
I'm really at a loss.
Where could the compression be and, above all, how do the cylinders have the same values?
Was happened with the turbo hose was just a coincidence, or could it be due to faulty injectors, for example, that caused an excessively high boost pressure?
Thank you very much!
