Now, as a gasoline car driver, I have finally managed to pass the registration hurdle with the questions about diesel vehicles .
I purchased the VCDS about two years ago from here, but I never actually registered on the community forum... I've now taken care of that.
Having learned the trade of toolmaking a long time ago, and now working in IT, tinkering with cars and motorcycles has been a great way to balance out daily life for years. While I'm not entirely inexperienced, I'm not a trained mechanic. Nevertheless, I do quite a bit of work on my own vehicles myself, although not everything.
I got into the VCDS because 2.5 years ago, I needed an Audi as a daily driver. The older American cars were getting old and simply weren't suitable for highway driving, long distances, or everyday use anymore.
And I was told back then that such a diagnostic device would be beneficial for today's electronic vehicles - which I can now confirm .
In any case, the statement fully applies to the Audi A8.
