DPF Regeneration: Display & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there's a way to display on the instrument cluster when the DPF is actively regenerating. Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where a regeneration has started, and you might only need to drive another 5km to complete it. However, as a driver, you generally don't realize this is happening. Therefore, it would be beneficial if I could somehow detect when a DPF regeneration is in progress.

Can this be adjusted or programmed using VCDS?

I would also like to know the solution. Unfortunately, with my vehicles (an A4 with engine code CJCD and a Golf 7 with engine code DDYA), I can only determine it by ear and by observing the idle speed.

I know that some postal service/DHL vehicles, like the Caddy SDI, were equipped with a specific type of lamp. There was also a special warning sticker inside the vehicle indicating that the engine should not be turned off if the lamp was illuminated.

There was once an update for the engine control unit from the postal service; you could compare the old and new software versions to potentially find it.
