Hello,
Today, I wanted to adjust the AGR (Advanced Gas Recirculation) rate on my Audi A6 4F, 2.7 TDI Quattro, Tiptronic transmission.
It should work with VCDS.
Normally, you would start with motor electronics and then move on to adjustments.
Unfortunately, I don't have a "Tuning" section in the motor electronics, but only a "Length Adjustment" option.
VCDS is HEX-V2 without limitations, it's genuine, and it's registered.
Software 18.2.1
Is it possible that the function is no longer available in HEX-V2?

That worked with EDC15 and EDC16, but only to a minimal extent. You have an EDC17.
V2 might be possible if it is supported by the control unit.

Yes, I have the correct EDC17.
Another question about AGR.
How should one understand the control of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)?
It's constantly showing 99.6% for me.
Is it always on or always off?
The target and actual values never match.
Error memory is empty.
DPF at 0.30, full, last regeneration 370km ago.
See the log file.
Log file now in original VCDS format.

Hello,
I suspect that you can't adjust anything with your system. It depends on the engine control unit, and besides, it would be illegal.
When it comes to logs, please don't modify them in any way, but upload them exactly as they were recorded on the hard drive.
Your AGR (Abgasrückführung) system isn't working correctly; more specifically, it's not closing properly (due to a mechanical defect), or the pipe to the turbocharger is completely clogged with carbon deposits or almost blocked, or someone has tampered with the data set.
Best regards, Rainer.

Nothing was changed in the dataset.
I have uploaded the original recording.
Are the 99.6% now completely closed or completely open?

Hello,
Rainer is probably right; on my 4F, there's nothing to adjust, and I've also never seen an Audi V6 CR engine on VCDS that had these adjustment channels. This only worked with the 2.5-liter engines.
But there are also cases where the diverter valve of the EGR cooler comes loose from the shaft and gets stuck, and then nothing passes through, no matter how it is activated .
Currently, there's an issue with the V6-CR models where the shaft/bearing assembly within the housing is shifting. This causes the flap to get stuck against the wall and tear off. The flap is only spot-welded to the shaft. It then remains in place, but in the EGR mass airflow, it's pushed against the opening, blocking the bore to the EGR valve.
Regards, Mpire.

No. I'm not writing this for no reason. Sometimes, when converting files, a) nonsense happens, and b) it's unnecessary. I see you just uploaded a file with commas, but that one looks messed up too.

Since the target value is 311 mg/H and the actual value is 411 mg/H, an attempt is made to recirculate more exhaust gases by adjusting the control setting to 99.6%, but this is unsuccessful.
Best regards, Rainer.

I'm facing the same problem...
Should it be 250mg?
Is that 350mg?
Agr 99.6%
Do we know yet what the cause was? Was it the mass airflow sensor (MAF)? Or the EGR valve?

Hi,
It's impossible to say whether the valve on the shaft has come loose, the connection to the intake manifold is clogged with carbon deposits, or even if a bird has built a nest in the EGR system, until the valve is inspected and, if necessary, removed.
Perhaps someone has tampered with the software, or maybe the control system isn't working properly.
It's all explained a bit further up.
For more specific information about your problem, I recommend consulting a fortune teller of your choice.
Best regards,
olli
