TDI Service Recall: Model 15 C 6 (96kW)

After my last visit to the workshop last week, I noticed a small, round, red sticker about 5 mm in diameter on the left shock absorber housing. Could it be related to service campaign 15 C 6 (Modified camshaft sprocket mounting screws)? Perhaps as an "indication that the work has been completed" or as a reminder that it still needs to be done?

Who knows the details of this service campaign?

If something is stuck to it, then it has already been done. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense, would it?

There should be a note in the back of your service booklet documenting any work done at the workshop; have you checked it?

What type of machine tool are we talking about here?

Mine is a production year 2003 vehicle (ASZ engine), but I got the information from someone with a vehicle of production year 2002.

The service booklet doesn't have any service actions recorded. Also, it would be the first time the dealership had entered anything there. On one occasion with the "III" model, there were suddenly three actions that were automatically recorded on the work order. However, none of those entries ended up in the service booklet afterwards.

During the last service appointment, a lot of work was done on the interior of my car, including the window lifter and the rear wiper motor. Therefore, I assume that there simply wasn't enough time for this particular task, and that's why a marker may have been added for next time. In any case, the red dot is new.

Have you checked the error database to see if your vehicle's VIN falls within the affected range? My AVF 96kW TDI is currently NOT included, but my VIN starts with ...2E424...

I saw the entry from October, and that doesn't affect me. It only mentions tightening the screws, but as far as I know about this issue, all the screws on the camshaft sprocket should be replaced in affected vehicles.

Is this really the same action?
