Hi,

I have a used engine control unit (ECU) for an ASV available.
'From a car that was in an accident, seen.'
'Since my control unit was completely flooded with water a few months ago,'
Subject: 'Control Unit Failure' - Forum members discussing electromigration risks.
Having been warned about corrosion, I'm considering buying a used STG (Sequential Turbocharger) at a reasonable price.
to buy in reserve.

Now, my question is...
Can there be entries in the engine control unit (ECU) after an accident that cannot be deleted?
What other adjustments would be necessary besides the immobilizer?

Hello,

I don't know the specifics of your engine control unit, but:

If the device numbers are the same, it should work. If the device was truly water damaged, there's a high probability of long-term consequences.
However, they are even more likely to be found in the wiring harness and other types of connectors.
Note: Water damage to a car usually results in a total loss.

Any error messages that appear will be cleared by the workshop anyway. It's not a problem.

As far as I know, an airbag deployment is permanently stored in the system and cannot be deleted.

Hi,

but the airbag has its own control unit, so why would there be anything else in there?
Is the engine control unit stored?

Bei mir wird in VAG-COM folgende Nummer angezeigt 038 906 012 AT. The STG, which...
The item offered is number 038 906 012 BB, which is also listed in the AKTE catalog for an ASV.
Can someone tell me what the difference is between AT and BB, maybe a more recent explanation?
Software?
