Since I'm new here, I'd like to say hello to everyone in the forum.

Hello everyone!

I think I've made a big mistake because I disassembled the fuel injection pump from my Audi 80 Avant 1.9 TDI, manufactured in 1995, and I'm not sure if I put all the parts back together correctly.
Therefore, I need an exploded view diagram of the pump.
Could you please tell me where I can find it? Even better, if someone has a copy of it as a file, I would appreciate it if I could download it.

After assembly, the engine only runs at 2000 RPM.

Initially, I had a damaged gear on the camshaft, which my brother unfortunately didn't notice right away, and he suspected the pump instead.
That was the reason why we had disassembled the pump.

I would like to thank you in advance for your support.

Abdulselam.

Hi,

Something like that can also happen if the upper part of the pump (the adjuster) is positioned too far towards the timing belt.
However, this is usually accompanied by significant startup problems, and only occurs if the corresponding screws have been loosened...

hi Ulf

Thank you for your contribution! What you wrote is essentially correct, but I believed that the pump was assembled incorrectly.

Now I have another problem.

We disassembled the pump again and then reassembled it.
Currently, there are starting difficulties, and when the engine is ready, it starts.
'It stops working. What has changed is that it doesn't smoke as much when you start the car.'
When the engine was running at 2000 RPM, it was also emitting a lot of smoke.

Do you or perhaps someone else have any ideas on how we can get to the bottom of this?
A sketch of the pump would be very helpful; it would allow me to see if I have assembled the pump correctly.

Best regards, Abdulselam.

Have fun. If you don't have all the parts back in exactly the same place as before, it's probably going to fail early anyway.

Hi Gremlin,

Thank you for your support.

Does page B168 correspond to the pump that I also have?
Do you perhaps have a diagram or drawing of the part labeled '50'?

This is the part that worries me the most, specifically the front section with the feathers.
'It also came loose during disassembly, and I'm not sure if a certain part, which I believe controls the gas, is assembled correctly.'

To everyone reading this, please excuse my unprofessional description, as I am not an expert in the field. Please be understanding.

Thank you and greetings.

Abdulselam.

Hi!

I experienced exactly the same problems, it would turn on briefly and then turn off again.
I agree with Ulf in this context.
If that's still not enough, keep pushing (with assistance) until the engine starts running continuously.
But be careful, always keep it running smoothly, otherwise it might easily exceed 4000 RPM!
It's also important to consider that shifting the upper part to the left or right can have a significant impact!
I assume that when you disassembled it, you at least made some markings!????

If it doesn't work, let me know again!

P.S. There's not much that can go wrong with the front part, as it's almost a single, integrated unit.
And if your concerns relate to the fuel injector adjuster, always make sure that it is installed with the "holes" facing towards the injector.

Hello Marko,

Thank you for your contribution!

He gave me hope again. After we were fairly certain that the pump was reassembled correctly, my brother worked on it again last night and took into account what you suggested.

and the result is icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

The car is running again, and I'm going to work with it today. icon_biggrin.gif

Once again, a HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed.
Your contributions either presented new ideas or confirmed existing assumptions.

If anyone here has a diagram or schematic of the entire pump, I would be very happy to receive it.

Best regards, Abdulselam.

Hi!

You're welcome!
Glad to hear that...!

But please don't forget the fine-tuning (VAG-COM).
Just because it works doesn't guarantee that it's delivering the correct amount of milligrams per injection.
