Hello!
'On my Audi A3 with the 1.9 TDI ALH 90 HP engine, the temperature gauge occasionally rises to 90 degrees, but then quickly drops back down to 60 degrees. Sometimes it then rises slightly again. Could this be a sensor issue, or is it more likely a problem with the instrument cluster?'
My climate control system displays an engine temperature of 90 degrees. Is the temperature sensor used by the climate control system the same one as the one displayed in the dashboard, or are there two different sensors?

Thank you in advance!!!

Best regards, Daniel.

Hi,

Regarding the sensors, I can't comment, but about the display: it has a rather silly "plateau function" that essentially frustrates the driver by mapping everything between 75 and 105 degrees to a reading of 90 degrees. Consequently, the needle always points to that one spot.

Conversely, you then get such poor results when it hovers around the lower limit.

Best regards,

Jan.

Hello, I'm having the same problem.
For a long time, there were no error messages displayed, then the temperatures quickly rose to around 90°... then quickly dropped back to 60°. However, this occurred during the summer with high outdoor temperatures.
In measurement block 1/4, the temperatures are stable at around 90°C ±3°C! The error memory indicates a defective temperature sensor. Where is this sensor located?

@Rocksound:
I am interested in the code table for the air conditioning system.

THX.

Hello!
Okay, thanks! So, it's probably my temperature sensor that's faulty. I'm not exactly sure where the sensor is located, so I'll have to take a look tomorrow.

You can find the codes for the climate control system here:

Best regards, Daniel.
