hello,
Since biodiesel displaces deposits formed by diesel fuel...
I'm wondering if it's possible to clean the fuel system with biodiesel, and what benefits that would bring.
I have a Lupo 3L, which is generally suitable for biodiesel, so I shouldn't experience problems with swelling seals.
I have an additional fuel filter installed.
Is a fuel filter like that (a fuel filter for gasoline, commonly found in hardware stores), especially one made by MAN, also compatible with biodiesel?
greetings

Hi,
The additional fuel filter is more resistant to biodiesel than the rest of the vehicle.
'I drove 2000 liters of RME (fatty acid methyl ester) in my old A4, which was supposedly biodiesel-compatible, until the ESP system failed. The car already had 140,000 km on the odometer at that point. No deposits appeared in the filter, which doesn't surprise me, since the fuel in the tank is constantly being flushed through the filter via the return line.'
Adding a small amount of RME (Residual Monomer Emulsion) won't immediately ruin your ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator), but you can try it out if you want.
