Hi,
It appears that the injection timing on my AAT has changed over the course of the last month.
To investigate the cause, I need accurate data, but I'm not getting it because the EDC refuses to work with self-built adapters. I haven't yet been able to bring myself to try the professional adapter; while it's only been tested with 1Z and 2.6L V6 engines, it might still work.
Does anyone know of a simple circuit that can process the signal from a non-contact proximity sensor (NHG) to control an existing strobe light? Gruß Christian

Hi Christians, I'm also from the Sauerland region. If you like, come visit me and we can arrange to start the funding process.

Hi,
@ Julian, the Sauerland region is large, but fortunately, I live in a different district of our global city than Mersente does.
@ Mersente Thank you very much. I'll gladly come back to this if needed. But for now, I'm going on vacation. I corrected it this week using the multimeter method.
More important than a one-time inspection would be a constant, regular check, because there must be a reason for this. If it were, for example, the popular crankshaft bolt, I would need to react. On the other hand, I also don't want to do this work just based on suspicion.
By the way: How do you properly adjust the tension of the pump belt according to the AAT specifications? My repair manual mentions a spring, but my car doesn't have one, and according to VAG, it was discontinued at some point. I'm also not sure how it's supposed to be done, because the corresponding lever on the tensioner doesn't seem to have a proper connection to the roller body. Gruß Christian

Right, the tension is adjusted using a spring, which is available as a special tool from VAG.

Aha.
Then the person who handles spare parts won't be able to find them among the spare parts either. Gruß Christian

"He's handled the last 1600 km well. He starts easily under all conditions, runs smoothly, has good pulling power, and with a consumption of 6.34 liters per 100 km, mostly at a speedometer reading of 140 km/h, you can't really complain about the 5-cylinder engine. The settings, as far as I can check with a multimeter, seem unchanged. So, let's just wait and see." Gruß Christian
