After replacing the clutch, I checked the oil level by feeling with my finger and noticed fine brass shavings. I drained the oil, and whole pieces of brass came out. I suspect these are parts of the synchronizer rings for the 4th and 5th gears, as those gears were slipping. Is there a repair manual for the ABB gearbox in this forum? I haven't been able to find one. What other gearbox would be compatible?
I own an Audi 80 B4 from 1993 with engine code 1Z, gearbox ABB, and 275,000 kilometers on the odometer. Everything is original.
