hello everyone,
The background:
I bought an A6 2.5 TDI AAT (115 hp) with engine damage (timing belt failure) and then installed a used powertrain (engine and transmission) from an AEL model with 140 hp, including the engine control unit. For safety reasons, I also replaced the timing belt, all pulleys, and bearings.
1. First attempt: The engine starts. Then, have a trusted mechanic adjust the engine control unit and read the error memory. The result is that everything is okay,
including the fuel injection timing!.
"My problem was that the engine was very difficult to start when the temperature was above 5 degrees Celsius. However, at lower temperatures, when the glow plug system was activated, the engine started immediately. In addition, the engine was misfiring both when cold and when warm, and the engine speed fluctuated between 830 and 920 RPM."
While searching the forum for similar problems, I came across haenlein's mega-thread, and the posts by Markus H. and many others prompted me to adjust my supposedly correct initial layer height setting towards an earlier start by about 3mm.
And lo and behold, what a miracle! The engine starts after a brief touch of the ignition key and runs smoothly and evenly at a constant 800 RPM.
I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that my little engine is running so well

.
Therefore, at this point, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the forum and to all its members who contribute to ensuring that car owners like me are spared the trouble of dealing with unscrupulous scammers. Thank you again - thank you very much.
Best regards, Bastianna.
