Omega 2.5 TD: Starting Problems & Troubleshooting

Hello...
ich habe ein Problem mit meinem 2,5 l TD in meinem Omega (6Zyl. BMW)
When the engine is cold and the car is just started, it only starts after a long cranking period.
He's lying in the driveway, nose down, and he starts right up perfectly.

When I open the vent on the filter while playing the organ, only air comes out initially.
Okay, I replaced the fuel pump in the tank, but I'm still having the same problem. The glow plugs are new.

I'm stuck and I've had enough (of this damn Opel).
Who can help???

(I've already switched to a T4 TDI, but the Opel needs to go.)

"We've encountered this problem before in this forum. Back then, it was a Japanese engine that would only start if the air intake was pointed downwards; it wouldn't start on a flat surface. If I remember correctly, there were issues with the fuel venting system, or the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) was drawing air somewhere along the fuel line. Please carefully check all connections up to the fuel filter and the ESP. Also, check the return line."
