Hello everyone,
I've had a Golf V for a few weeks now, it's a great car. Just like I was used to with my Fabia TDI (ATD), I shift gears quite quickly in this car as well. However, occasionally when shifting, there's a kind of noise, as if something is rubbing. This mostly happens when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear during faster acceleration (around 3000 RPM). It sounds like the gear lever is rubbing against something in the housing. The noise definitely doesn't come from the gearbox itself, and it doesn't sound like synchronizers. It's not a loud noise that sounds like something is broken, it's just something I've never noticed before in a car, but every car has its own quirks.
I have a 77 kW TDI (BKC) engine with a 5-speed gearbox, and it's a Sportline model.
