VAG-COM: Enter address 25 bit teA dress 17

Hello fellow DIY enthusiasts,

I think I need a translator.
What is Engine Control Unit (ECU) 25 (Immobilizer) trying to tell me with this error code?

Address 25: Immobilizer.
Controller: Bit tea dress.
Component: Enter 'e 17'.
No faults found.
or DTCs not supported by the controller.
or a communication error occurred.


This peculiar entry appeared when reading all controllers using VAG-Com.

Does that mean I should just leave the immobilizer alone ?

Just read it!

"Please enter address 17" - you need to specify it using address 17 (which, in my opinion, refers to the combined instrument), as the immobilizer is integrated into it.

So, don't address device 25, but rather device 17.
