Hello! I've read a lot about the AGR already, and I'm almost certain I know where the famous metal piece needs to go.
But it's only ALMOST icon_eek.gif.
That's why I'm asking again, just to be sure icon_redface.gif.
Because I haven't been able to find a clear picture of a V6 TDI engine that precisely identifies all the parts icon_cry.gif.
Now, my question: Are the spots in the picture the correct places where the sheet metal needs to be inserted icon_question.gif 1 or 2? Although only one spot is needed!

THANK YOU !!!!!

ps. Great forum icon_wink.gif.

It doesn't really matter (whether it's one or two), because nothing is flowing anyway.

Further criteria would include:
1. What's the best way to reach you?
Where is the thermal stress (and thus, potentially, corrosion) lowest?

I would guess option 2 (the cross-section to be closed off there is also smaller, and you are in a "cleaner" area).

Hi, here's one more small tip about that.

If you want to install the plate directly on the EGR valve (2), you should make sure your tools are securely fastened.
'An the same location, an Allen wrench fell into the 'V' of the engine. It took me about an hour to get it out. I would install the bracket directly on the intake manifold because it's easier to access there, and the required bracket is also smaller.'

@marco! Yes, you're absolutely right. I've had that problem with tools falling down many times; it's awful.
I have also taken another, more careful look at it, and I will probably attach the plate to position 1 because of the easier accessibility. icon_rolleyes.gif
