How do I precisely set the start of the flow after a pump change?
does anyone have a link, or can they explain it to me in detail?
it is an A4 V6 TDI 150 hp AFB engine
it is quite important that it is accurate.
thank you |

Welcome, Audi,
That is perfectly described in these articles on this page. (Search function: Only search in the "Fachartikel" category with the term "*spritzbeginn")
Greetings

Sorry, am I being blind or can't I find the instructions there? Only for VP37... but VP44? |

Okay, but shouldn't the procedure be identical for both, or? Use Vag-Com, compare "Target/Actual," turn the pump on, compare "Target/Actual," etc., until Target=Actual. Please correct me, Julian, if I am wrong.

the pump cannot be turned!
it is securely mounted.
I have already secured the old pump and removed it, i.e., the motor is on cylinder 1.
and now I want to install a new one, which I will of course also lock beforehand. Do I need to adjust anything at all, or can I just put it in together and hüh hüh? |

Audi states:
- Just install the pump
- check with VAG-COM SB
Optional:
- Remove the timing chain tensioner
- Loosen the camshaft, turn left for later, right for earlier
- review and adjust as needed until it's perfect.
Absolutely no way to open the ESP-ring!
Busy working,

many thanks. will I probably get my pump tomorrow?? I'm curious to see how everything works. I'm building a pump from a switch into an automatic system, but the Bosch numbers are the same. |

Look under:
/viewtopic.php?t=4816&highlight=injection+start+adjust
+ Additionally, disconnect the fuel pump, place the timing belt (ESP), and align the markings
Check dynamic injection start.
I'm curious to see how you'll bleed the VP44.
Best regards,
Manuel |

Regarding the topic of venting, I always do it like this
Install EP, timing belt not yet installed, attach all hoses to the pump, leave the nozzles loose, turn the ignition on and then turn the pump by hand (it's easy), you can 'HEAR' it working, until the air in the return line is gone or it starts to drain out of the nozzles, disconnect, re-install, tighten all hoses and make sure they are even (without using a drill ), start the engine, check with vag FB, if not exactly 3 screws need to be loosened without loosening the tensioner, correct, tighten and check. |
