Hello there,
I have another question for you.
The temperature gauge on my Audi 80 Avant B4 1.9L TDI, manufactured in 1994 with engine code 1Z, seems to be malfunctioning.
A while ago, the display was only showing around 50 degrees. I then replaced the thermostat. After that, it started showing around 60 degrees again. > Still too low.
The needle barely moves at all anymore, not even after a long drive on the highway.
After a short distance, the upper hose to the radiator is slightly warm, while the lower hose to the thermostat is ice cold. So, the thermostat should still be working correctly.
I once heard something about faulty voltage regulators causing problems. If that were the case, the fuel gauge should also be malfunctioning. However, it seems to be displaying the fuel level relatively accurately.
So, temperature sensors in the bucket?
Where is he sitting?
The second pump is located in the other fitting, which is connected to the return line of the heating system.
It's gray and has 3 pins.
I once tested the blue one with the 2 pins. It didn't show continuity at an outside temperature of around 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.
Unfortunately, I haven't measured the others.
I just remembered that I read the temperature with VAG-Com some time ago. It showed approximately 80 degrees Celsius.
Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:
"Addendum:"
Could it be that the temperature I'm seeing displayed via VAG-Com is being read by a different sensor?
And how can I, for all the world, change the steering gear boot without having to hang myself up?
End of addendum.
Who can help me?
See you then.
Markus.
