Hello!
I'm having a problem with my VW LT 2.4 TDI, 6-cylinder engine.
When the engine is warm and you've driven about 10-15 km, a little bit of black smoke comes out of the exhaust under load, which is apparently normal.
When the engine is then turned off for about 10-15 minutes and restarted, and the accelerator is pressed, it emits a large amount of blue-white smoke and smells strongly of unburned oil.
The turbocharger starts to build boost very slowly, beginning around 3000 RPM, and I only reach approximately 0.6 bar at around 4000 RPM. I also noticed a little bit of oil in the exhaust.
The shaft seals have been replaced, and the engine performance is fine. There is no oil in the coolant, and no coolant in the oil.
The diesel pump was set to 0.85.
Does anyone have a tip for me? A6 AFB

Determine whether the oil is coming from the engine itself or from the turbocharger (TL).
Possibly bypass the turbocharger from the engine control unit and check it, or run the engine and see if it's producing any smoke.
Check the charger for wear and tear (e.g., damaged shaft, leaks). LG, Onkel BM

I'm going to try starting without using the turbo.
If it were actually the turbo, shouldn't it be producing smoke while driving? A6 AFB

Are you sure it's a 2.4 TDI 80? It's more likely to be a 2.4 TD!
LD starts late! The turbocharger turbine shaft can be easily inspected by removing the intake hose, and a mirror can be used to precisely check for damage.
Occasionally, remove the crankcase ventilation hose from the intake manifold and check for signs of excessive oil. A light oil film is normal.
I experienced a similar effect on my T3 1.6TD. There was a lot of smoke after starting, but after some time, as the exhaust manifold got hotter, the smoke gradually decreased (the oil burns cleaner).
Another question: How does the engine start? NA,Gehörlose wie ich können auch Schrauben! Ihr HÖRT ich FÜHLE! Hello, it's a 2.4 TD with 70 kW, manufactured in 1995, ACL.
Starting behavior is good.
The intake manifold is already oily. Did your turbo fail, or at what point should the boost pressure start?
The linkage for the turbo seems a bit stiff. A6 AFB

I've now removed the turbocharger, and there are clear signs of oil residue and oil droplets visible inside the exhaust pipe. A6 AFB
