The performance increase is clearly noticeable. First, I connected the 2.2kΩ potentiometer and two antiparallel diodes in series according to the instructions and performed a few test runs. The result is a resistance value of 200 ohms. If I go even deeper, the motor becomes very aggressive and starts stuttering (gas pedal for 2 seconds goes to zero) followed by black smoke clouds.
I accelerated in the fourth gear from 2000 to 4000 RPM, but this method is very inaccurate because the measurements vary significantly even under similar conditions.
Without tuning: 14.6 seconds.
With tuning: 12 seconds (average values).
The boost pressure has increased by approximately 0.15 bar.
Next, I installed a diode with the ring facing towards the control unit, into pin 3 of the combination sensor, as described in this post. That was a shot in the dark, and suddenly I had no power at all. So, I reversed it, and lo and behold, it worked.
'However, it's working too well; the boost pressure was originally 0.8 bar, but now it's 1.2 bar, with overshoots reaching almost 1.5 bar. The problem is that the engine makes a brief high-pitched noise during the rev-recovery phase after shifting, without producing any more power. Either my 1.6 TD clutch can't handle it, or I have another issue. What does the specialist press say about this?'
Addition: The diodes used were N 4002.
