Hello everyone, and thank you for this great forum and the wonderful community.

Having had the opportunity to research and find many valuable pieces of information here, I would like to share some knowledge and experiences in return, in order to further enrich this forum.

The attached document (original creation) describes the repair of a turbocharger for the 1.9 TDI engine produced by Volkswagen AG, featuring a pump-injector system and bearing the engine code ASZ (96 kW / 130 hp).

I would like to submit this document as a "technical article." Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the procedure for doing so.
I would be very grateful for a tip.

Best regards, toxic89.

Hello,

Nice. But how did you get rid of that rash?

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer.
The supplied housing assembly was delivered as a balanced unit consisting of: the casing, shaft with gears, and bearings. No balancing was required.
Best regards, Kevin.

Could you perhaps add an illustration to clarify it?
- An image of the integrated charger (hull assembly with both housings).
- how the hull assembly was disassembled;

Hello Herbert.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures of the repair process, and I can't edit the post anymore either! It seems that editing is only possible within 720 minutes after creating the thread.

Regarding the image material:

- An image of the integrated charger (hull assembly with both housings).

You can find images of the complete turbocharger by searching for "GT1749VA" on relevant search engines.

- how the hull assembly was disassembled.
From the old main body, I only removed the shaft to inspect the seal. The only noteworthy thing is that the drive shaft (on the compressor side) has a left-hand thread. After removing the nut, the shaft can be carefully extracted from the compressor wheel using gentle taps (with a rubber hammer).
For the repair, the entire hull assembly was replaced. The new part was already fully assembled and balanced.

Best regards,
Kevin.

Hello Rainer.
Thank you as well!
The last image (GT1749VA_mit_Detail_Rumpfgruppe.jpg) is not mine. I only created it by combining two images.
I noted the source in square brackets... [Source: KS-Turbo, 10/2018] ... or something similar.
However, in principle, you can also find these images online, even if they infringe on copyright.
Best regards,
Kevin.
