Audi 80 B3 Diagnosis: Troubleshooting Guide

Hi,
I want to use VCDS to read the control module (MSG) on an Audi 80 B3 (year of manufacture 1989, 2.0 liter gasoline engine, engine code 3A).
The 2x2 adapter connectors, black/white, that are located on the central electrical system, as found in my Audi 80 B4, are not present. Instead, there are two similar black/brown connectors located in the footwell on the driver's side. I can only assume that these are diagnostic connectors.

Yep, that's all there is. What problems does he have, or better yet, let's list the problems he *doesn't* have. Nobody wants to spend the money to make it run properly.
