'...that sounds very interesting. I discovered it on Ulf's website. I'm very interested in it because I don't have the patience for chip tuning, and I think it would be great to have some additional features. Especially because the engine isn't put under as much strain.'
Thanks for the information!

Hi,
Audi 80 Avant.
It now has almost 300,000 kilometers.
Series 1Z, 66 kW.
The engine is completely original.
First injectors, exhaust, catalytic converter, head gasket, basically everything!
It's running great and not consuming any oil.

My brother:
Golf4 TDI 66kw TDI.
215,000 km.
Everything is still original.
It currently has a small power dip.
Everything else is working great.

Hello!

Golf III Variant. EZ 96, 66kW (AHL?)
Acquired 18 months ago with 149,000 km on the odometer, and shortly thereafter equipped with a simple tuning box. It's set up to be very gentle, with moderate power output (but also no soot).
So far, I've driven 193,000 km without any problems (aside from the mandatory MAF sensor replacement).
'It's been running continuously on biodiesel, as far as I know, even by the previous owner.'

Best regards,
Frank.

hello everyone...

I have a Galaxy 1.9 TDI, manufactured in October 1996.
Engine code: 1Z
Power: 66 kW

Mileage: 178,000 km. New KW suspension with bearing shells.
260,000 km. The same thing happened again: the KW screw has come loose. I only replaced the timing belt, tensioner pulleys, and the crankshaft pulley.
Now I have 270,000 kilometers on the odometer.
and a new LLM last week.

Best regards, Mike.

Post23-08-2003, 16:11    Subject: PD115 --> how much does it represent? Quote

hello!

Can one generally say how long an old PD engine will last?

Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English.

Is it still worth buying with 225,000 km?

'The 89er TD 35i with 80 horsepower has at least one cylinder with worn piston rings at 400,000 km, otherwise in good condition (condition 1).' Clutch makes a loud noise when idling (for the past 100,000 km) - great car, with almost no electronics!

Hi,

I drive an Audi A4 1.9 TDI Quattro.
AFN 81 kW -> Chip tuning 97 kW (by TCM-Fahrzeugtechnik).
The catalytic converter failed with 33,000 km on the odometer.
The chip was installed with 50,000 kilometers on the odometer.
Currently, the mileage is 64,000 km. (Still the original mass airflow sensor icon_lol.gif).

The average fuel consumption under normal driving conditions is 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers.

Hello,

I agree with Edgar. The SB engine is fantastic.

Golf2 GTD with standard liquid cooling (80 hp).
Total mileage: 460,000 km, of which 220,000 km were driven by me. Still has the original head gasket. Consumes 1-1.5 liters of oil every 7,500 km.
"For 55,000 km with 1.2 bar of boost pressure, 215 Nm of torque, 110 DIN horsepower, and running on vegetable oil instead of diesel."
Transmission damage, soon to be followed by a hit from an AFN Toledo.

Best regards, Uli (who uses the "Wirbelkammer" system whenever possible because it's simple to operate).

BEI 161 AND A NEW FUEL PUMP (THAT WAS THE REAL PROBLEM). DEFECTIVE - Approximately €1200.

When I read this thread with all the responses, I can't help but wonder if there are any TDIs that haven't been tuned.

Golf 4, manufactured in 1998, AHF engine, 110 horsepower.
106,000 km since approximately 85,000 km.
'With a ******** chip, producing approximately 145 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, plus a longer 5th gear.' Gang.

From 160 km/h onwards, this is the 'PD Killer' (=).

Yes, I do - I have a non-running Audi 80 B4 Avant with a 1Z engine and the weak 182 Nm of torque... The engine is still running with its original components, having reached approximately 362,000 km. Unfortunately, the ESP is now leaking, thanks to biodiesel. icon_rolleyes.gif

How long have you been using biodiesel? I'm always worried that the ESP system might leak, but so far, thankfully, it's held up (I've been using biodiesel since kilometer 54,000).
Allegedly, pump damage is not more frequent with biodiesel than with conventional diesel (according to the oil mill), but if it does happen with biodiesel, then it was obviously due to the fuel itself. But they're definitely telling a lot...
