hello,

I'm new here and I have a question for you right away.
Is there a reprogrammable ECU for a diesel, in my case?
for a Peugeot HDI.
would like to implement a technical upgrade in an older car and not
everything with rebuild (WFS, multiplex, cable harness, etc.)
it would also be sufficient if there were information about the original control unit
to be able to use.

Looking forward to information.

Best regards, Tom

Yes, these control units are available:

My employer offers something like this for engine development. It is the PROtroniC.
These control units are universally applicable for both diesel and gasoline engines. They are suitable for engines from 1 to 8 cylinders.

What they do is precisely configured and programmed to match our own application software.

The problem for you will be the price, which will be based on industry standards.

Get familiar with the motorsports scene. There are a few reprogrammable engine control units (ECUs) available. These are also more affordable.

What, however, remains:
You will need to write the software yourself, or at least adapt it, which requires a solid understanding of engines.

Best regards,
Jochen

hello jochen_145,

Thank you for the feedback. that the matter will not be simple or cheap.
I was somehow already aware.
The biggest problem is that all the STGs are not really the same.
Well, there are still many things that can be done.

Hello Tom,
There are also 'free' diesel-compatible control units available.
The problem with the whole story is just that the price of this
Parts (at the latest, when you take into account the necessary development software)
moving in the realm of a lavishly equipped new car.
Then came weeks and months of software development / customization -
Ideally, on a dynamometer - (where failures can also occur)
(or other motor hops can go).
Will you ever get it approved ... icon_question.gif

The complete donor cable system overhaul, including WFS and other miscellaneous components.
is (even when new parts are purchased), more affordable and can be achieved in a fraction of the time.

hello rudi,

That's exactly the problem. I was hoping that it would...
Similar to what's available for a gasoline engine, in terms of both technical specifications and price.
the biggest problem with the takeover of Kabelbaum is
regarding the weight and complexity of the whole thing, since the car
It should be suitable for short distances. In this case, every component is less important.
I think I'll probably have to put the idea aside for now.

then I'll say thank you for your help and wait and see what they do
There's still time.

Best regards, Tom

You can also cut the series cable to only the cables needed for the motor control.
Therefore, you also save weight.

If you're using a programmable MSG, you'll also need to use a cable harness and, of course, you'll definitely need to make it yourself. Therefore, I don't believe that you will have more overtime or save significantly on weight with Rudi's suggestion.

And that's all it takes to disable the Wegfahsperre.
Typically, this approach is followed in recreational sports. Only those who have the financial means, the time, and the personnel can afford their own tax equipment.

Best regards,
Jochen
