Lupo 6X1094 AMF MJ 2000: Whining Noise Diagnosis (Solution)

AMF engine.
"Scratching noises coming from the front right side of the engine compartment."

Cause:
The noises are caused by the membrane fluttering of the hydraulic engine mount on the front right side and occur at approximately 750 Hz. The membrane system vibrates with varying intensity and is dependent on the road surface and the temperature of the engine mount.
The noise is very noticeable when the system is warm and only occurs on uneven road surfaces and bumps. The sound can be compared to the noise of a timing belt. It's a bright, high-frequency knocking sound.


Solution:
The engine mount needs to be replaced if the following criteria are met:
The noise is more noticeable when the device is warm.
The noise is only noticeable when driving over bumps or on uneven road surfaces.
The noise occurs even when the device is disconnected and under no load.
