TDI Flywheel: Will it fit Lupo 1.4 AMF?

Hey everyone,

My wife has a Lupo TDI with a 1.4L engine and the engine code AMF, as mentioned above.
First registration: 1999, mileage: 168,000 km.

Unfortunately, the third gear in the transmission is starting to have some issues, and I'd like to have it rebuilt.
As is well known, the engine's smoothness is far from ideal; it rattles due to the EMS (Engine Management System), and it would be significantly better – also for the gearbox – if it were equipped with a dual-mass flywheel (DMF) like the one found in the Audi A2 1.4L TDI 90PS model.

I believe the transmission type is probably the same as that used in, for example, the G4 platform with a TDI engine?

Unfortunately, despite an extensive search using Google (except for one instance of a 6-speed conversion), I haven't found anything concrete, but my question is:

Would a manual transmission, for example from a Golf 4 TDI (with a transverse engine), perhaps fit the 3-cylinder engine by chance?
I could probably get them for a relatively low price, or should I just leave it and not bother with them because it's a bad idea?

At first glance, it doesn't seem like anything fits there.

Buy something original. Manufacturers are LUK or Sachs. With a little searching, you can find these parts for a cheaper price than at .

The transmission is type 02A or 02J (which should also fit, according to what's discussed in this forum).
If the A2 has the ZMS engine, you should look for it in that area.

Please post here if anyone has tried anything, because based on my experience with approximately 100,000 kilometers driven in two cars of this type, I believe the missing dual-mass flywheel (ZMS) is a major cause for the failing transmissions.

Since the car has no other significant flaws and is considerably more suitable for long distances than is typical for its class, it could easily become a "perfect" high-mileage vehicle with a relatively short wheelbase if the issue with the gear lock mechanism is resolved.
