AGR Fault: Audi 8P BKD Engine Problems?

Hi,

Can someone with expertise confirm this for me?

It seems like the EGR valve is stuck in a slightly open position on that box.

I find the discrepancy between the planned and actual results quite significant!

Or is that normal for these boxes? I absolutely can't imagine it being so.

The A4 models equipped with the BLB engine do not exhibit these extreme variations.

It's an 8P model with a 2.0 TDI engine (BKD), without a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).

It would be helpful. The vehicle is sluggish in the upper RPM range and occasionally starts very poorly.

You probably mean the high airflow at full load? The setpoint is well regulated under partial load.

A friend's car with a similar engine also has an extremely high air intake at full load, but it doesn't have any issues or complaints.

If the air mass were that high because exhaust gases are being recirculated back into the intake through the EGR system, then it would likely cause a significant amount of soot buildup.

I can't open either of the files, but if others are having the same problem, I've also found some similar examples, as well as others that aren't nearly as extreme.

Okay, I definitely don't see any signs of an open EGR valve sticking. The mass airflow value is always high, or as Malte mentioned, it's well regulated at partial load. Those very high values at full load are probably more likely due to the cold season, I think. The sluggishness or poor starting from the top end probably has other causes than the EGR rate or the mass airflow sensor readings.
