Biodiesel in 2.5 TDI: AAT Engine Compatibility?

Can I use biodiesel (RME) in my Audi A100 C4 2.5 TDI 5-cylinder (AAT) manufactured in 1993?

if not,
Can I modify something so that it will work?

or are you advising me not to go to RME?
(This should not involve any discussion about environmental issues!)

No, VW and Audi only switched to fuel lines that are compatible with rapeseed methyl ester (RME) and have been approved for its use starting in model year 1996. However, that's not all; your fuel pump (and the seals associated with it) are not RME-compatible. I cannot tell you what the effects might be on the fuel tank, fuel level sensor, or other components that come into contact with the fuel.
There is no approval from Audi for that model year (and certainly not from Bosch).

... considering the year of manufacture, I wouldn't drive an RME, and whether I would even subject myself to that --- definitely not.
