So, I drive in the highest possible gear, typical for a TDI, at the lowest possible RPM – between 1000 and 1500 RPM – and let it pull when needed.
Because I already pay my environmental tax every year in advance through taxes .
Hi Ulf,
In driving school, you still learn today that driving at excessively low RPMs is not good for the engine because it doesn't develop enough oil pressure.
Do you know at what speed the nominal pressure is reached?
Do you know at what speed the nominal pressure is reached?
Hi Eike,
What is the nominal pressure for the TDI or AFN engine?
For example, the idle pressure is either 7 bar at cold start (above which the limiter valve opens) or approximately 1 bar with a warm engine?
Between those points, everything is possible during operation .
The values were read from my Conrad multimeter.
But I won't let it fully extend if the oil pressure is below 2 bar .
