Hello!

I would like to reinstall the original chips in my AEL device.

Where does each one go?

I have:

1,037,355,055
0 281 001 321

and on the second chip, it says:
1,037,355,054
0 281 001 321

I saw a picture somewhere of an open control unit in the AEL, where the chips (but there were 3 of them) were visible. I can't find it anymore icon_sad.gif.

I now know where they end up.

'But does anyone know how to access the ECU (Engine Control Unit)?' Inside, the plates are interlocked... I can't get them apart.
Is there a trick to it? icon_rolleyes.gif

Are there not two more screws attached to the circuit boards on the inside? Then unfold it. icon_wink.gif

So, is it really all down to those stupid screws?

Are those sometimes super tiny Allen screws? Those tiny parts (1mm?) aren't usually available for purchase. icon_mad.gif

Torx, and you can find the corresponding bits at hardware stores.

Okay, thank you both!

I'll check on Monday.

After that, with the original chips, comes the troubleshooting... icon_eek.gif icon_cry.gif

Hi, are the chips soldered in or inserted at the AEL?
Where is the best place to get original chips? I bought a tuned chip and want to restore it to its original state. Do I need to adjust anything after replacing the chip, or if I get a complete, inexpensive replacement...? Do I need to adjust anything after connecting the engine control unit?
Best regards, Robert.

hi!

are used. There are 2 of them.
You will only be able to obtain original chips from the original owner or from a tuner who can program a chip with original software.

When replacing the entire engine control unit, the immobilizer needs to be reprogrammed.

Sure, here's the translation:

'PS:'
I had the original chips installed for two days, but then I took them out and threw them away because they were too slow.
No, unfortunately, I cannot give them away icon_smile.gif.

I know he won't be as aggressive then, but he'll also produce less smoke. The AEL is a fog machine by nature, and chip tuning won't make it any better. Can I use VCDS to modify the soot management settings so that, even though the engine is chipped, it injects less fuel when the air mass is not yet at its maximum?

No, you can't really do that with VAG-COM.

You could adjust the chip to a slightly later activation time, but then it would start working even later.

We'll probably just have to live with the soot...
With the Golf, I was already the biggest supplier of briquettes in the area, but with the Audi, I am definitely not the biggest anymore. icon_lol.gif

Hello,

The AEL is a production or chipped unit, not a fogger, but it can be prone to problems caused by insufficient airflow from the engine.
Using the search function will soon render everything useless.

Best regards, Rainer.
