Painting Shark Fins: Guide & Tips

Hi

Can the shark fin antenna from a Passat 3C be painted?
Audi offers some of the parts in the car's color.

I'm more concerned about the receiving properties, because pearl effect paint contains metal powder, which has a shielding effect.

On the other hand, it won't be easy to paint the sealing collar in a way that it is durable and resistant to chipping.

Can this be done retroactively?
